When I bought my RG it already had Boom Stage 1 but only the 4.3 HU. So I have bag lid speakers and fairing speakers with one amp. I inquired with a dealer about getting a Sony 7000 knowing my amp would not run with it, but they also told me I needed a $1200 speaker and amp kit (Rockford stage 2). My question is I did a lot to this bike this winter and have a low budget right now around $750 to $1000. What can I do with spending $2000? Deaf want the head unit though.

When you say you have bag lid speakers. What do you have? Which lids do you have?
As teedoff stated and I will ask just what does your complete setup consist of now? Knowing that will help the gurus here put a good setup for you possibly using some of what you already have.

It's not a cvo. They were added by the original owner.just the stage 1 lids. They are on the harley website. I have one amp and was told stage 2 would be 2 amps and had to change all speakers to stage 2.
You need to be more specific. I know your bike isn't a cvo, but harley lids.... Cvo lids are different and may require adapters for non harley speakers. Were trying to help, but gitta give some details.
I think those lids are for 5x7 speakers. I think there are adapters to use 6x9's. Others here will comment, a there may be some decent 5x7 speakers you could use, o rif not which adapter works well. BUt for that budget, you could easily swing a good amp like the stinger spx 700 when you can catch it at a lower price...around 200, and then some mmats 601cx in the front for 200 and some speakers in the rear should put you under 1000 easy.

It sounds exactly like what he says. CVO lids, or FACTORY HD LIDS, they only make one speaker lid. Right? 5x7 unless you cut out the basket and ptu 6x9 adapters in like I have. Unless I'm mistaken and they have two different Factory Lid speaker systems.
