I have a 2009 ultra with stock HU and speakers upfront and in the tour pack.
I am looking at getting a PN4.1000D (knowing I will likely have to trim some speedo plastic to make it fit above the radio), I believe the 4-ohm Pa601cx speakers make the most sense for the fairing with adapters to make them fit. What I am a little lost on, is what to do for the rear TP speakers.
I know I will need a wiring kit also but could use some help ensuring I am putting a decent setup together for the speakers/amp combo.
I don't have an exact budget in mind, but definitely wanting to keep the price down as much as possible while still getting a decent upgrade I won't be disappointed in.
I think...might be wrong, but those same mmats would work in the tourpack pods as well. Might need an adapter. I think v-twins makes some. but not sure about pre rushmore.
It appears V-twins does sell an adapter for $100...is that the best option? Any other options I should consider at a similar price point versus buying the adapter?

Junes upholstery makes pods that go in that location on the pre Rushmore bikes that will fit most 6.5s and Ive seen them pretty fairly priced here in the buy/sell area. The V twin ones are very well made and great looking option for sure too. Another option is just adding a spacer. Ive seen guys who are handier than me loosen the pod covering and put the spacer under it so it looks nicer than just a 1/2 inch spacer. Just my 02, hope it helps

And Im not sure if that amplifier has high-level or speaker input? If not youre going to need something to convert from speaker output to RCA cable inputs. I know theres a common one that a lot of guys here use and they will recommend it if its needed
Is there another amp in a similar price point that I won't lose FM with?
This process just keeps getting more and more expensive to the point that I am starting to wonder if I can afford to do it...since it seems like its not worth doing only part of the process

Do you have any idea of a budget you can work with?
I had the 520 watt version of the sound stream amp and it killed my fm reception.
I replaced it later with a stinger spx 700 amp and that amp is FM friendly, but its double the price on the SS. Perhaps someone else can confirm what other brand amps dont mess with FM.
I never listen to the radio anymore. so its not an issue for me.
