Default New to the forums and new install question

Hello from Louisiana! I'm planning my first install on my 2017 Street Glide. Like a lot of people I had the BOOM installed before I drove it home and never liked it. My buddy has the J&M 4 speaker system and I'm not really liking that much more than the BOOM. I started putting together an plan for my own build and purchased a few of the go to items from reading the forums. I overlooked one detail in my build plan and would need advice if you guys wouldn't mind. My problem is my Dayton DSP, I'm planning on running 3- 800x4 EVOX. I'm seeing now that all 4 inputs need to be used on the amps and would need splitters. How would you split the channels up in my build? My list of equipment is below. I know its more power than they need but, I'm trying to give a little room to play later. I know I can dial them back to what they can handle. Also, how much would you send to each speaker? I'm not that great with a DSP and wouldn't want to make smoke. Thanks in advance!

2- GZ coax - upper fairing with 800-4 bridged
2- GZ coax - lower fairing with 800-4 bridged
2- Hertz 6x9 NEO - bag lids with 800-4 bridged

I would do a 1200.4 (2 ohm) instead of 2 800's for your fairing and lowers. Saves a ton of wiring and you'll still have 300w plus for each speakers. Which will be plenty of power for a front stage.

Also, IMO, a 800.4 is little much for the 6x9's. Yes I know Carlos and ThatDude did and blah blah blah. Remember those Hertz are rated at 130w RMS. If you want to run 400w to a 6x9, then I would look at speakers that are designed for that power.

All of these speakers take specific tuning to take 400w. NONE of them are designed for that. And then sending that much power is going to kill your low end.

Agree with CShocker, one 1200 would be plenty for the fronts.

My problem is 2 of the amps were a gift from my wife for my BD, not thinking I bought another for the bags. I was going to dial back the gains to whatever wattage is recommended on here by yourself and the others on here. I have seen the post you were mentioning. pretty entertaining! lol

May have to think about selling a couple of amps, another thing is everything is pretty much powered up. The snag was when I was connecting the DSP.

Are they opened? Used? I bet you could return them for the 1200 to your SD rep. Or if not, I bet you;d have no problem selling them here for most of the money to cover the 1200. Just a thought.

Yes! And you could buy the DD Audio RCA kit and make your own splitters.

Everything is mounted, and wired in, so I think splitters would be my best option right now. I will take a look at those DD splitters, sounds like what I need. What power would you guys recommend I send to these speakers and cross them at? I’d rather be safe than sorry. Now when it come to tuning the Dayton I would definitely need pointers. But like anything else I’m willing and able to learn. Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it.
