-I store it in the USB compartment
-yes, it connects quickly and consistently

Do the thumb controls work? Do they actually work to select different buttons on the display or are they limited like on the Sony?

they function pretty much identical to how the Sony setup works, if that's a deal breaker for anyone, I suggest you plunk down the $1600-$2000 for the GTS and get on the waiting list for it come back in stock....

**UPDATE**

So, admittedly, I do very little night riding, so doesn't matter to me much, but I was out until 930 Friday night, the screen is pretty damn bright at night, I have it at the lowest dimness setting, which is -15, what are others thoughts? maybe it's just me...

you light sensitive little mole you personally I struggled with both the 6.5GT and the Sony at night, because they would melt my retina.
I even used to run my Roadies Splash Cover at night so it would dull the Sony (or use the black-out button - great feature!) on long night rides.

The HDHU14+ was bright at first, until I learnt you could turn it down... and since the -15 was introduced I've been impressed.

if the light is getting on my nerves I tend to swipe it to a screen that hasn't got much on it, and ensure you have a dark wallpaper

...just my 50 pence

oh I hear ya brother, my eyes used to hurt with the Sony and the H-D. But the HDHU has been fine at night IMHO, and the -15 def made it easier on the eye.

I'll be honest I love riding with it off at night and just my Dakotas on... then I'm Captain James T for the journey
