With the OBDll comm on for the digital gauge readings to work, I get a check engine light with a DTC U0100 lost communication with ECM. When I disable the OBDll communications on the head unit it goes away and operates normal. Bike is 2014 Ultra Limited. I am guessing the unit is somehow interrupting communication with in the can bus system to pull inputs for the digital gauge operation on the head unit. Anyone else experience this? I am working with volunteer audio to find a solution.
Did you install a "data retention module" with the head unit? Im not sure about your 2014, but my 2020 required one, I used the Idatalink Maestro just for that reason, gauges and thumb controls. Good Luck!
I do have the module installed. Being told by volunteer audio, folks are having issues if they have a programmer attached to the bike ie FP3 fuel pak, thunder max etc. They must be removed in order for the head unit obdll to work.
Volunteer Audio is going to send me a re-flashed MMR DATA module to try, The head unit is amazing, and a straight forward install. We will see if the new module, and the FP3 fuel pack being off the Bike will fix the U0100 loss of communication with ECM issue. I will keep everyone posted.

so, it's one of the other? no thanks! they need to get that fixed...
Im having the same problem. Its funny its not happening on all bikes. I had Carlos at NVS audio. Check it out He is one of the best installers in the country. I was told its a idatalink firmware problem He is letting Idatalink know of this problem
Dont waste your time I tried 3 RR's. I sent you a PM
trying to understand this as I too use a FP3. I do not leave it on the bike though. Are you able to use the FP3 to do a tune change, take it off, and the radio work again? Or does it damage the module if you hook it up? Trying to understand. Thanks much.
