I've been on a mission to track down good component speakers for the fairing and came across Massive Audio. Anyone ever use their speakers on a sled? The FZ6 model looks promising with a 93db, and their HNX6 looks very similar to the Hertz SX165 Neo's.
I have 3-way Massive system front and 6.5 coax Massive rear in one of my Volvo trucks. Play pretty well with Sony 4x100W head unit. Dunno though how it will work on the motorcycle.

Curious to hear feedback
as for component speakers, if you are considering options, AD 4000's and AD 5000's are some nice sounding speakers, nothing harsh about them
I seriously looked at the 5000's based off Tees recommendations...just can't justify the $1000+ tag.
the 4000's are a lot easier to power and a bit less, i'd recommend you keep your eye out for some used on the forums here, but they don't show up very often, for a reason
i know it's some extra coin, but it sounds like everything you want and describe wanting is in an AD speaker
i've never had a Hertz in my fairing, but i've heard them, and they were a nice warm and clean sound as well

Yeah I was looking at the 4000's - silk tweeter - I like that. I ended up buying a set of Euphoria EPC6K - hopefully I can tame some of the highs with EQ - otherwise I think the next step is going to be a DSP.

Buy once, cry once. For the sound you are looking for, I would strongly suggest the 4000 or 5000's. I've heard Caffeine's bike, it was nice and not harsh.
Your only other option to not have a "harsh" sound is to run a DSP and own amp channels to woofers and tweeters/horns, depending on the speaker.
