Side by side comparison
2024 road glide base model. Ordered the Kenwood stage 2 budget build
from volunteer audio. The system shipped pretty directly packed well.
Main goal- hear radio at highway speed with full face helmet on. At first glance being new to this, was kind of overwhelmed. However was straight forward and I'm overall happy with everything. Install time even for a newbie with a good mechanic background took me one and a half hours start to finish. I followed the video step by step starting with the fairing/ windshield. Then tank and seat. Ran power wire, reassembled seat and tank. Dropped in the amp and ran appropriate wiring. His video is accurate however disconnecting the battery threw a general warning code that looked like this on the dash ⚠️ so I had to hold the trip button and press start at the same time to get into the code reader side of the skyline os.
After resetting the code system was good to go and I cannot be happier with it. If you are looking at going with volunteer audio for the " budget build" in my opinion it's worth it. I can now hear my radio at highway speeds even with my helmet on. They also sent a picture of exactly what to tune your eq at. Very helpful. Again I'm not sponsored by these guys. Was super hesitant about this from the jump because of some of the reviews. My experience so far is it's top notch equipment with top notch support.
