I have an 09 Electra Glide Standard that I bought with no head unit. Dealer told me previous owner stated old head unit died and he wore headphones so he just put a storage bag in the space. Now I want to upgrade the speakers, install a new head unit with an amp. I wear a full face helmet and I would like to hear the music while traveling at hwy speeds (70+ mph). As for budget I haven't really set one but I don't have unlimited funds. I don't want the cheapest gear but I don't need competition gear either. I would like to have something that can withstand the weather if I run into some and something I can use with the stock handlebar controls. I only have upper fairing speakers and I don't plan to add any more. Would like the head unit to connect BT and don't care about disks or USB ports unless its for charging.
I appreciate the help in advance. I look forward to hearing what the great audiophiles suggest.

I would second that Headunit. Can order a whole kit (mounting, thumb control module, radio) from Crutchfield for under $200.
