Hi all,
I bought a ‘13 Ultra Limited and it has the stock head unit with Hog Tunes speakers in the fairing, Tour Pak and Lowers as well as the 450 amp for the TP/Fairing and the 225 amp for the Lowers. This fall the radio display quit so I bought the Rockford Fosgate 9813 for a head unit. Here’s my question, do I need the amps and secondly, are there better reasonably priced speakers. I don’t think I want to go to 6.5” speakers but it might be my only choice to get the sound I’m looking for. I was not happy with the sound before but I think it was due to the way I had to hook up my Bluetooth through the aux jack and fm sound quality.
Thanks for your input.

Keep the amps. You need them to power all those speakers.
The new head unit will give you a much cleaner signal. Your old Bluetooth was the main problem.

For better sound, upgrade to 6.5" fairing speakers. It's the best way to improve sound quality without a huge cost.

You have a 450 amp and a 225 and you're not happy with the sound?
Isn't that pretty loud?

There are a few different options for aftermarket headunits available.

What kind of sound are you trying to achieve?

I would suggest replacing the 5.25 speakers with a current and more efficient 6.5 speaker.
As for the amps they are marketed at the wattage but do they actually do the rated output as per manufacturer?

Feel free to DM me and we can go over your expectations.
