Default Road King Classic speakers

After riding a couple of the bigger bikes that belong to friends with stereo systems on them, I'm beginning to appreciate having a little bit of music while on the longer trips.

I'm looking for the type of speakers that mount on the handle bars and play via ipod plug in. I have zero idea where to begin to look or what a proper name for them are.

Any ideas?

J&M handlebar speakers are the ones that come to mind but there are other manufacturers out there as well

Many mfg's out there. They come in 2 configurations, self amplified and amplified using a separate amp and wiring and volume controls, gets a bit "spagetti' hooking this type up. The self amplified are mounted and plugged in to a 12v source. volume control in on the left speaker. Google J&M, cycle sounds, Rumble Road. Kuryacin, and several others. I would avoid the Pyle-Shark brands, Chinese stuff. Google JMAS-2008, they are not cheap, but considered the "Cadilac" of handlebar speakers

I went with the Harley Boom brand. They are pretty loud. My rider says she can't hear them once we get on the road. But I don't run a windshield and I have them mounted on my crash bars cause I didn't want to clutter my new bars. I got the Booms because they have great style, they kind of look like a headlight bucket, they are decently loud, and the price was actually decent. I shopped around for a while, these were the ones I liked. J&M also makes a set that are supposed to be decent.

Recently I've been looking for a set of speakers for my leather bag lids on my Classic. No one makes a set directly for that, but I think I could make one work. The only thing would be is I would need to splice into the Boom system, and hope the amp is big enough to drive it all.

I did find a new brand last night that looks promising, but that's all I can say because I haven't heard them, or anything about them. Hard Ride Audio. Check them out and let me know what you think.
