I'll have just as much into buying either the SS or the RF....so 1 amp seems so much cleaner although id lose some watts...lol
Yes, you can install two RF amps side-by-side above the radio. I did it using Scott Ezzel's excellent bracket. If you go to J&M's website you will see the install instructions for their 4 channel amp. It describes how to provide greater depth for their amp by modifying the cups that secure the speedo and tach gauges.
I doubt I'd do this if all I wanted was 4 channels, but I wants 8 channels.
As I look at the options more and more I would like to just have 1 amp that is a 4 channel and I knew the RF wouldnt work cause of the impedance of the polk speakers....and didnt do a bunch of homework on other "small" amps
I think i'm ok with the 60 watt loss, which really is only 20 per channel.....
The SS amp is in top running now and I like the price of them, I could almost swap amps with lil money loss
