if there was a choice of either, or.. I would choose to add more speakers. You can always add the head unit later.

If that amp is not bridged currently, you're missing out on a lot of power to drive them more efficiently.

IMO you could stick with your stock if you just like the radio/cd or AUX input. With the amp and speakers you have upgraded your loudness and at 70mph sound quality isnt a huge factor anyways.

Now I upgraded my radio for multiple reasons...I have a 07 streetglide and it had a 05 radio in it....Drove me up the wall, even thou it worked great and had aux input it wasnt the stock one!

The biggest thing I gained from switching to my sony(CDX-M60UI) here is a link
http://store.sony.com/p/CDX-M60UI/en/p/CDXM60UI is the USB control. I just have a simple memory stick that i put under my seat and it holds 8gb(cause of size of the stick) of music on it that is all controllable from my handlebars. This same USB hookup works for ipods to and everything is controllable.

I choose that deck cause it had all the features of the stock HK (cd fm am aux) and then had the REAR USB. And the fact that I sold my stock radio for 350 and bought the sony for 140 helped me switch alot!

So good that...

Wondering how much better with two more speakers in the saddlebag lids... for that "fill" sound, ya know?!

THEN...

All that would probably sound better with an aftermarket headunit.

Yea... I'd say it's addicting!

Ya can't beat the sound of a decent speaker in the lids or bags, it makes all the difference in the world.
The mid-range, and bass is un-describable,
A good 4 channel amp, great speakers, makes one want to go have it installed that day.
My tins are at the painter, should have it back together by the end of next week, with speakers in the lids!
I'm having a big schawntz contest with a buddy who went with J&M fairing speakers J&M amp, and stock speakers in the tourpack, nice system, but it ain't nothing unless there is some type of speakers in the bags.
We will see the how this works out!
I"m sure he will add speakers to the bags once he hears the sound!:icon_speaker1 :

yep....

When I consulted NutZ, he said that starting up front was the way to go (absolutly correct) with that "wall of sound." To most... it's COMPLETELY ADEQUATE.

I guess I'm not "most." Won't be for a while (probably next year,) but I'll add the lids. Probably go with an aftermarket head unit at the same time.

Like everything else... it won't ever end. Sure is a fun journey!

Hell... it's just paper & ink!
