Sound cuts out at higher volume.
I recently installed an amp, iPod interface, and lower fairing speakers on a 2010 Electra Glide Classic. All Harley parts. I took the bike to the dealer so that they could "turn on" the lower speakers. Since doing that, once the volume control reaches the upper end, the system cuts in and out. It's like it is hitting and overload protection or something. If I slide the fader so that the lowers don't play, it doesn't do it.
I guess my question is, do you think it is in the lower speakers or something in the amp?

what happens when you adjust the fader ONLY for the lowers? Does it still cut out?
If it does, that tells me you have a speaker causing the issue. May be a bad voice coil that shorts when it starts getting hot (turning up the volume)
A good way to test it is crank it up where it's cutting out and remove 1 lower speaker at a time to see which side is causing the issue.
