Just got my 20014 Street Glide. Does anyone know if they will fit. I know you have to get the Boom Audio Grills because of the tweeters. Just worried about the mounting. Heres a pic of the speaker.
That really tells us nothing. What you need to look at is the thickness of the mounting ring. Those squared tabs cause me some concern also. They might hit up at the top outside of the fairing. Only way to really know is to mock them up.

I have a friend that works at a HD Dealer and they were going to do a four speaker Rockford T165 6.5 and no way. They ended up doing the Boom 300 amp and four Boom 6.5 speakers,Alot of cash $1000.00 for good sound but alot better out there for the money. Sucked because I had bought 4 of the Rockfords under the assumption they would work from the conversation with him.NOT
Well this is my first audio venture!!!!
I am considering adding the Rokker 500 amp to my 2014 FLHXS.
Will I need to upgrade the charging system to handle this amp?
still on the fence between BT4180 or Rokker 500, but need to know if I will need to upgrade the charging system to handle this type system.
any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.

No upgrade on the charging system. Not at all necessary. Go for the BT4180 hands down. It completely craps on the boom and JM stuff. I'm running the 4180 in my 14 FLHTK and it gets so loud I can't stand it. Clear as as bell too. No gains to mess with, made in the USA and lifetime warranty. Biketronics sells this amp to custom bike audio builders that routinely run 8 speakers off it with amazing results. Contest winning results.
I agree with Monty. Go for the Bt4180! Besides the fact that it's kick ***... it has a lifetime warranty. The Rokker stuff is great but if you buy it today and it breaks after 3 riding seasons you are out of luck. If your Biketronics stuff fails 10 years from now (or even beyond) it's still under warranty. If that doesn't make up your mind I don't know what would lol. A
motorcycle fairing is a harsh, hot,
environment. I like the extra piece of mind. If it weren't awesome stuff to begin with I wouldn't care about the warranty but it is fantastic and that warranty on speakers and amp too. I say biketronics all the way!

NOTHING on the market today outperforms the J&M ROKKER amps and ROKKER XX speakers ,,,,,, when YOU actually compare them, then you will realize what you have been missing ,,,,,

I'm also having a noticeable fade issue with my set up. The rear speakers, (Kicker CS67s) are noticeably a wee bit louder than the titans in the front. It's undoubtedly an issue with the internal DSP. I have to fade two notches to the rear to balance. This is another thing I'm waiting to be resolved before I mess around some more. At Bills suggestion I'm going to pull the fairing and switch the front and rear RCAs and see if the problem migrates. That will 100% confirm my suspicion that it's the workings of the DSP.
MontyCop05,
Did you have a chance to reverse your RCA inputs into your 4180 Amp and to see if sound problems with your rears migrated to the front?

Honestly I did not. I haven't been back inside the fairing yet. Been to busy with other things to try that yet. I have a pile of things install on my scoot this weekend. Plasma rods, trailer hitch, garmin road tech audio jumper and harness, hard wired power for my go pro...the list goes on. When I crack the fairing open I'll try that first and get back to you.
