Man, I am new to the forum and new to Harley's as I bought my sgs about a month ago.
I am wanting to upgrade the two front speakers and go with an amp. I always thought jl audio was the best.
I have read through all the pages or atleast tried to and I just got annoyed with the 1,000 posts about j&m being the best amp/speaker combo ever. I guess the saying is right "there is no such thing as bad publicity" I ge it your product is the bet, however I'm not going to buy a product based off what the owner says, I'm more interested in people's thoughts on this forum.
Again, I tried to read all the pages but I was getting irritated with the rokker posts.
So, to sum up all 35 pages, what is the best amp + speaker combo just for two from speakers. Jl audio? Pbr?
Would like to stay under 800 with speakers and amp.

I installed the Rockford PBR300X2 & Polk MM651 speakers. I'm very happy with the results.
jl audio speaker and Rockford amp is the best / cheapest combo!
ask this dude about hooking up your stereo he is extremely helpful
he also has a cheap and secure way to mount these amps http://www.ebay.com/itm/161256797212...84.m1586.l2649
Just curious what you have invested in that setup. Thanks

Brother it's really gonna depend on who you ask. I prefer the Biketronics stuff because of its small footprint, the versatility, the feature set, it's great sound and the fact that the speakers and amp both come with a lifetime guarantee. It can easily be accomplished with Biketronics stuff for around $800ish and the amp will leave you room to grow later and add more speakers. The Rockford amp is a great deal. They have had some problems with them but it seems they are working them out. JL speakers and sound quality speaks for itself and I have always had good luck with the Polks in auto and marine environments so I can't fault them either. My opinion and it is just that opinion is... the Biketronics stuff is currently the best option but I have heard great systems built with the Rockford, Alpine, Polk, and kicker stuff too. They can be done a little cheaper but you are sacrificing the lifetime warranty and in some cases (like with the Rockford) a little bit of your ability to add and power rear pod, lower fairing and saddlebags speakers in the future. If price is the issue lean toward Rockford many people are very pleased with them. If it's in your budget and warranty or adding more speakers down the road is a factor then check out the Biketronics gear. Either way is a heck of a lot better than factory and everything you have mentioned will increase your rock out factor exponentially! In the end it's kind of a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota thing. Which one is best depends greatly on who you ask. Good luck with your decision!

According to my research and guidance from Ultranutz, the best combo thats cost effective is the infinity 62.11i speakers with the PBR2 for less than $300 you have a great system with minimal investment. Boom audio, J&M, Harley crap all suck! They just produce loud music but not quality music. I did that mistake of once getting a Boom audio system for my SG, well, I got rid of it FAST! Also, I tried J&M products... Their speakers are garbage, I ended up switching their speakers for Biketronics Titan II and those speakers really were a good combo. Of course after shelling out a few dollars down the drain I came to the conclusion that you don't need to spend an ungodly amount of money to get good quality audio music.. Just my opinion of course

Did the Infinity 62.11i's fit in the fairing pods without any mods?
Question for those who have done an aftermarket amp and had the flash done by HD, do you lose the speed volume feature. The increase in volume used to be noticeable and especially around town there was no need to increase volume manually. Don't notice the increase anymore

It's best to turn off the AVC with an AMP installed. It will cause distortion.
