Holy Mack, that is a great testament to that amp. I wish I could hear your system.

I have posted this in other threads but haven't gotten a good answer to the problem. 2014 SGS updated to PBR 300x2 and the Titans just in front fairing no rears. Sounds volume is great but not happy with the distortion. And distortion is worse with radio and xm then with IPod. Took to a auto stereo shop and he believes the DSP is the culprit. Everything else is setup and configured correctly. I previously had the unit flashed to amp mode and of course the PBR wouldn't turn on as I didn't have remote power installed, was using the speaker lines as directed. So had HD flash it back. My plan is to have it reflashed to amp mode which I believe will shut off DSP and the use remote power line to turn on the amp. Hope you all can help me make sure I am not wasting more time with this problem. Not happy at all with how system is performing. My questions are as follows:

1. Does flashing to shut off DSP make sense? I know this question has been asked but there are lots of conflicting answers out there. Hoping some of our resident gurus can clearly answer this question
2. I am working under the assumption that once flashed and in amp mode the remote line will turn on the amp and everything should be working fine?
3. Will installing the remote before the flash cause problems as the speaker lines currently turning on the PBR?

Thanks for any and all help.

guys ,,, the J&M ROKKER XTP 500w amp can easily run 4, 6 or 8 speakers ,,,,,,,,

plenty of reserve power, good bass and NO overinflated paper specifications ,,,,,,,

if the gentleman who runs Biketronics would like to get on this forum and tell us WHY his amplifier is the best, I would encourage that ,,,,,,,,

with all due respect to the other folks here that tout the Biketronics stuff over and over again ,,,, PLEASE, just one of you, bring your bike to the J&M audio trailer at Laughlin River run in a couple of weeks so you can hear the REAL difference between the J&M and B/T amplifiers, so that you are not just relying upon written paper specs ,,,,,

So I guess that JM's amps are the only Amp made that are not over inflating thier posted RMS numbers. Sorry, not bashing JM here but i find that hard to believe. Not saying your Amp isnt a quality Amp, I hear that ARC puts out a good product. Here's to hoping you have a very profitable 2014 John.

Default Radio Flash

I installed the PBR300X2 amp. I wired the radio's left and right speaker output to the amp and then out from the amp to Polk MM651 speakers in the front fairing. I only have 2 speakers in my bike. I have a lot of distortion when I try to turn up the volume. I went to the dealership and had them flash the radio and we tried every combination but every time there was no sound. Below are the combinations and the results.

Speakers Page: 2 Speakers/1 AMP
Options Page: 1 AMP
Results: No sound and diagnostics showed lost communication with AMP and no speakers

Speakers Page: 4 Speakers/1 AMP
Options Page: 1 AMP
Results: No sound and diagnostics showed lost communication with AMP and no speakers

Speakers Page: 2 Speakers/No AMP
Options Page: 1 AMP

Speakers Page: 4 Speakers/No AMP
Options Page: 1 AMP
Results: No sound and diagnostics showed lost communication with AMP and no speakers

Speakers Page: 2 Speakers/1 AMP
Options Page: No AMP

Speakers Page: 4 Speakers/1 AMP
Options Page: No AMP

When in the 4 speaker configuration I tried to change the fade settings but that did not help. I can't see how anyone has been able to get their radio flashed and still have sound. Any more thoughts anyone?

Crazy, sounds like we are having similar problems, do you have remote turn on wire installed on your PBR? I didn't have them flash as many setting as you did but I had the same results and Amp wouldnt power and no sound. As per post above I am going to try again with remote power and see if that helps.

I had the power and ground ran directly to the battery with a fuse in-line if that is what you mean.

No as I understand it and I will defer to the experts if I am wrong but the PBR turns on from the speaker ins in the standard situation and we don't need the third wire on the PBR located in the plug with power and ground. However there are some scenarios where the signal from speaker lines will not turn on the amp and you need the remote line. It is my belief that once you tell the HD HU that there is an amp then there is not enough signal from speaker wires to turn on the PBR and you need the third remote turn on wire. It should be tapped onto a hot that turns on with bike like your headlights. When I flashed the HU the amp would simply not power up. Unfortunately didn't come to this conclusion until later and I haven't had a chance to head to Harley to test yet.
