Wouldn't it make sense because he's already flashed it and needs to have it flashed back to do the 4 channel with no amp flash now? In case he ever wants to add speakers or a different amp later. That way it will work with what he currently has but he wouldn't have to flash it again for future upgrades.

Great info in this thread!! I am, however, still looking for a concrete plan as to which way I should go regarding upgrading the stereo in my SGS. I am looking to add an amp, upgrade the speakers and add saddlebag lid speakers (when I have the $$$). I would like to accomplish this without going broke.

From what I'm gathering, it looks like the consensus is that the Polk MM651's are an excellent bang for the buck and would suit my needs. Not a total drop in application, but close. (Countersink screws/need Boom Grills?) I see that the Biketronics Titans are popular as well.

My real issue is the amp. I only want to buy one amp as well as only take the fairing apart once. With this in mind, I will need to buy a single 4 channel amp that will power the whole system (4 speakers) when I add the saddle bag lid speakers at a later date. Is the Soundstream PN4.520 still this best option for me as far as price, ease of install and power output? Any other suggestions?

Next item is the saddle bag speaker addition. First off, does anyone know if the pre painted lid kit from HD comes with the grills??? Next thing is which speakers to run? Again, I'm looking for good sound quality at a reasonable cost. My next question my sound silly but I have to ask regardless. Will a loaded travel pak fit in the saddlebags with the speakers installed.

I guess that's about all for now.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Tommy

I'm in the same situation as you. I already have the saddle bag speakers and the whole system sounds great. Until you ride it. It definitely needs more power. I'm looking for a good 4 channel amp first, then I'll upgrade speakers. My days of total system wiring are over. I just want something basically plug and play. J&L amp includes everything, but it's a little too pricey.

Thank you Pioneer74, I was wondering what BT put out at 2 ohms. That could put out good power to the rear pods and some bag speakers at 2 ohm.

That's how I have mine set up. You would never think I'm running all 8 speakers off 1 amp.
