Thanks for the reply sand. I was abit at a loss for the fact I can get all four to work. Just not the way it's suppose to. It already had four speakers. Dealer said I should be good to go because it had 4 already. I know how that goes with the dealer already. I'll probably end up educating them thru this thread

I am not sure that the flash will resolve your fade question, I am hopeful for you that it does, But I can tell you you need to have the Flash done. The reason being the Flash will remove the factory DSP settings programmed into the head unit that make the crappy stock speakers sound sorta OK. By adding an amp and having it Flashed, you will notice a HUGE improvement in sound quality, believe me!!! So regardless, get it Flashed, don't let the dealer tell you don't need it... Some of them are clueless, I taught my local shop a lot and they thanked me.

My dealer charged me 50.00 just to change the settings as per the Rockford instructions

A bit excessive for 10 minutes work

Just my .02

I just had my stereo upgraded on my 2014 Limited with the speakers and amp as well. Now, when I start my bike, the sound is not very loud. After I get going dowm the road I then go into audio settings and move the speed volume down to the second bar, the sound almost doubles. I can then move back to 4 bars on the speed volume and all works well and sounds great until I shut it off again.
Dealer told me to shut off the speed volume and that was causing the amp to "overload" but when I do this the sound half as loud.
Any ideas of what is causing this?

Here's my thoughts after trying 2 sets of speakers, with and without poly-fill and with various settings on the PBR300x2:
Hawg-Wired may be a well made speaker, but they are completely wrong for a 2014 system. They just don't sound good in the pods and I think they are way too bright. Infinity is a tight fit, but they sound great. I just hope they don't rub... Poly-fill is a slight improvement, but not much so probably not worth the effort. Amp setting with the Infinity speakers: gain +7, crossover set to HP with the crossover about 80hz (that prevents your speakers from trying to reproduce super low frequencies you'll never hear on the road anyway.
What would I do different next time...save my money up and buy the JM Rokker amp that has the DSP software built in to it. Magic box works o.k., but I still think it's killing some sound. For speakers, the best ones that are MADE for the 2014 (either hog tunes or cycle sounds) so you know they'll fit. Even with after market grills, unless the rings on the speakers are VERY thin, you could have problems. If these speakers rub and get worn, I'll try Hog Tunes.
Anyone one want a set of Hawg-Wired speakers? I'll make you a sweet deal!
If you would go to a J&M Rocker Amp, what about matching it up with the J&M 6.5 speaker? I'm told they are good too?

I just can't see paying over $300 for a set of speakers that may not be any better than the $109 Infinity's. I havent heard many good reviews, although I must admit I have not heard them in person. I went back and looked at the Biketronics and they have a reversed surround that goes in instead of out so it won't rub the grills. Those may be the best speaker out there for this system, if they will work with the pods. I wish I could hear some before I buy, but I haven't seen another bike around me that has changed to anything except the Boom stuff. Right now I'm pretty happy with the Infinity and the PBR300x2. I adjusted the crossover to about 100hz and it helped reduce distortion and really let me crank the volume. I'm satisfied for now...but those BT speakers have me wondering.........

Default Connecting AMP to a Limited Questions

I’ve read this thread and can't seem to find any mention of where/how to connect an amp to a 2014 Limited with four speakers.

Is the only way to cut and splice the main cable connecting to the HU, or is there a connector I can get to in the fairing that has all four speaker wires?

Also, one other question: Is it better to run new 14 gauge wires to the speakers or use the existing ones. I'm using the Soundstream Pn4.520d, so there will be 100 watts per speaker at 4 Ohms. I have the new style amp with the big connectors and making the mount now. I have already mounted the Kicker speakers and fired up the radio without the amp and it sounds good even without the amp.

Thanks for any help.

Ride Safe

I have installed the RF PBR300X2, infinity Kappa 62.11i and the magic box.
As previously discussed i am not happy with the sound.
I tried the RF recommended flash (AMP 1 "No", Amp 2 "No" and 8 speakers) and it sounded extremely flat with no bass response. I can go into the audio setup menu and change the bass settings from zero to max and not hear any difference. I can hear a slight change when playing with the treble settings but it only add to mid range treble, not high end treble.
I had it reflashed to Amp 1 installed "Yes" and 2 speakers upper fairing/no amp. Sounds about the same, flat and can turn volume to max and the passenger does not hear it clearly at highway speeds.
Thinking about taking it to a stereo shop for fine tuning but am a little nervous about letting them take my fairing off!
Maybe next step is to remove the magic box.....
