BikeTronics BT 1005 left bar control issues
Called BT and they told me to check ground of the radio first (just run a new or extra ground between the triple tree ground bolt and the radio). then check - if that did not resolve the issue - the wires on the left handlebar (if they are pinched or damaged). guess I got to open up the fairing AGAIN!
great support on the phone from them BTW.
They told me Sony and Pioneer are analog voltage controlled so very "sensitive" on the signal sent...
Anyone out there experienced the same issue?
Will post the solution....
I found out that when the bike was on Ign or Acc without running the engine it was working fine... running the engine, not working correct.
first manually added an extra ground. not resolving the issue.
then loosened the left control, tried again and .... fixed.
Looked closely when I opened up the control and looked like part of the wires were "stuck between the bar and the control. relocated then back into the "dimple/divot" in the bar and tightened the control again.
Now it works as designed.
while fairing was off, I changed the gain of the RF PBR300x2 to max (almost max at 11) as the Pioneer deck has a volume of 0-62. I dialed the gain in with 60 as volume on the deck (gain was around 10). This will help getting the volume up faster as it takes a while to go from 15 to 40+. Now I think I will be around 30+ (freeway).
as I am using the RCA pre outs this should not effect the sound Q...
