Ok....When I bought my 13 Street Glide, I told the parts chick that I needed some speaker lids that I could fit my 6x9 speakers. She showed me the OEM speaker lids for the bike and I bought them. Once they finally arrived (which took freakin' forever) I had my guy try to install them and he said they don't fit! Don't fit? What do you mean? Don't fit! he said they are too big you will need an adapter or something or buy the 5x7 speakers that fit the hole. I was madder than a hornet ona hot summer day (Lizard Lick Towing fan)So I went ahead and ordered some speakers last season that fit but now I am looking at another riding season and I want to use my 6x9's without having to buy new lids. Did anyone else have this same issue?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the right adapter to use so I can use the 6x9 speakers in the OEM HD speaker lids?
No company makes an adaptor to install a 6x9 into the Harley lids that I know of except Biketronics, and they only sell it with their speakers.
So I guess you have a decision to make. Keep what you already have, buy the Biketronics speakers and run those in your current lids, or buy the Hogtunes lids and run the 6x9's you already have.
Okay....I just purchased the Hogtunes 6x9 lids. I didn't want the hassle. They should be here Friday....now I have to get them painted!! Arrggggghhhhhhh
still got the CVO lids? if so do you want to get rid of them?
if so;
what color are they?
what do you want for them?
what kind of condition are they in?
Yep still have the lids... I only used them half a season because I got the bike in July 2013. Great condition....yep going to get rid of them to help finance painting the new ones. They are vivid black....
