Component speakers help needed
first of all, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to the audio/electronics.
So after getting a 2012 Street Glide a couple of months ago, I was really enjoying my audio set up. Previous owner told me that audio has been upgraded completely. It has an Alpine-123 head unit. Based on the boxes I got with the bike - looks like I have a RF PBR300X4 amp.
The bike has 4 speakers in the fairing itself - looks like 2 6.5" speakers, and then a pair of small ones right underneath - I'm assuming they are tweeters (I think this sentence totally proves that I am a complete novice). Another box that came "with the bike" is for RF T165 speakers.
So long story short - about a week ago I started hearing a hissing sound from the left speaker (coincidence or not - it started happening after I had my bike washed at the local HD dealership). OK, so the speaker is blown, I guess.
So what I need help with is pretty obvious now - what do I replace my speakers with? What are my choices for the component speakers?
Before you go off replacing parts, I would pop the fairing cap off, swap left and right speakers and see if the issue moves with the swap. If it does then you know you have a speaker bad. Swapping doesn't necessarily mean physically swapping them but you can take the right wiring and plug it into the left speaker and vice-versa.
