Default HogTunes Tweeter Pods

Just read a thread re: the HT tweeter pods and they piqued my attention. I'll soon be installing my speaker lids and why not add some tweeter pods while the fairings apart? I'd probably power them with my JVC HU but am curious about the sound? Are they a nice addition or would they overpower the fronts with brightness? I could fade them but curious as to the sound quality? Thanks for the input..

I have them and wish that I never installed them. First off, you'll have to drill a hole into your fairing in install them.

Do you have your inner fairing painted? If so, you'll have to have the pods painted too.

As far as sound, I honestly can't tell anything that they do. If I put my ear to them, I can hear the sound but they don't compliment the sound at all. I really don't see any thing that they do. Now, I do have a strong sound system but even before installing this current system, I ran PolkDB651 and still couldn't tell that they do anything.

If you insist on tweeters, there are better ones on the market.

I do have component fronts and did switch around my smaller gauges to mount my tweeters in the upper position. Just thinking about a larger sound stage on the batwing. Nice input, thanks.

The same cant be said for the J&M rokker tweeters. Those things made a HUGE difference. They are hooked up to the front speaker leads off my HU and they go toe to toe with the kappas that I have. I would highly recommend them for crisp clean highs.

I've heard that about the J&M tweeters. I wish I would have heard about them before investing in those Hogtunes crap. I was then thinking of putting them into the shell of my hogtune tweeters but it's not an exact fit.

Oh well!

The hogtunes tweeters are a bit harsh, but once you install the bar it's a done deal. I happen to like the appearance of the bar, it added some chrome and some detail to an otherwise empty spot on the dash. I replaced the Hogtunes tweeters with Infinity silk domes, part of the 6030 component set. I'm putting the woofers in my lowers, should compliment the Kappas I have in the fairing nicely.

I've not seen the Hog Tunes Tweeter Pods installed but this might help to "hide" things if they were removed?

I got to thinking that since I already have components with separate tweeters, that adding another set may not be beneficial? Hmmmm....

Default Connection?

Now, IF I were to get these, what would be the best way to wire them? HT says they're for 4/2 ohm systems. That said:
1.) Would I wire them in parallel with my 4 ohm front/rear speakers using my PBR300x2?
2.) Would I keep my front/rears in parallel and connect the pods to my JVC HU ?

I know the tweeters have a freq XO but how much power could they take? So much I don't know

I'm glad I saw these reviews I have been looking at these from time to time and I may go with something different now. Thanks Kryingame.
