It is very important to give your aircooled motors time to warm up before whacking the loud pedal. The motor oil does its' best job when at temp. How many of you just cannot resist the urge to blast away after startup?

I don't usually let my FI motor warm up.
I leave for work at night and try to keep it quiet for the neighborhood. It runs great cold.

Hey Dog, how long does it take that 155"r to warm up? My tug boat mechanic buddy just designed, built, and tested a oil mist catch can that works, I'll bring drawings to R&R with me next week. See you there.

If you run big bore motor you better let them warm up a little or you want be running them long . I let my 124 fast idle (by hand with the throttle , not the choke !)for a minute and the ride it easy for a few miles till it is up to full operational temp . My 113 I ride it easy till I see the oil psi start coming down from the oil getting warm . To start an engine and let it slow idle is almost as bad as not warming it up at all . It's hard on the bottom end to let it lop on the cam .
