Now that's different. I'll be v. interested to see what this turns into - it's nice to see people building with other engines than a v-twin, cos you can get away with different things depending on the engine.
Are you going to add lower frame tubes running down from the steering column to under the engine, and then on to the rear axle ?
I don't think so. although the moco did offer a bolt on down tube for the Sprint back then most didn't have one. we think that going without will add to the uniqueness of the bike so it doesn't blend in with all the other bobbers
I was more wondering about the fact that without those tubes the rigid rear section might look a bit like an afterthought, whereas with the extra frame the rear end would just fall in line with the new tubes.

thats something I hadn't thought about. guess we'll see after its a roller. thanks for the sugestion.
Haven't posted in a while cuz progress has been kinda slow, but made some headway recently. got the jig pretty much done, my girl bobbed the rear fender and cut some off of the tail light mount so it wont point straight up after moving off of the cut off part to the top of the fender. I got the nasty job of stripping all the paint off of tank, fender, tail light and battery box. had my buddy pull the dents in the tank, a little hammering on some of the other parts an we will be ready to start with the filler putty. looking around for some steel tube for the tail section to start on that too.
the jig
fender before
Shannon bobbing it (yes she does have safety glasses, the frames are clear)
after
rough cut on the tail light
down to bare metal on all the tins
so I'm sitting on the bench letting my head clear between sets of dead lifts and I notice the Sprint Bob front end leaning in the corner of the garage. $hit just when I thought I was done with the paint stripping, I forgot about the head light/speedo bucket and upper fork covers.
gonna look pretty cool when they are all painted though
