Goldwing (brat/Cafe) build
Ordered and installed a new ignition harness and 0 power still... so i was done wiht it... i took out all the wiring in bike... every part! cleaned all the conections, cleaned the ground location, pulled all the wires out of the plugs and cleaned the contacts, then i ditched the jumper fuse (was the whole problem), and went with a heavy duty 8 guage fuse and soldered on all new conections... reinstalled the whole harness in the bike and BOOM! i got power!!!!!!!!
i took a light tester to the old fuse block i had tapped into the main and found out that was not making a solid conection... but now the bike is like brand new...
i have to still figure out the tail lights... brake light works great but i have no running light... but that should be easy enough to fix.. i am very very stoked... now i just have to button that all up. add some fluids, install pipes and go riding!!!!!
knocking more and more out nightly!!! tonight My buddy Justin came by, we cleaned up the wires a bit, then mounted the fuel and heat guage (that will be inside the tank) so that you will know where you are at on fuel and how the bike is running, also took the stock plate mount, cut that all up, welded a large washer to the end so we could slip it over the axel, and welded a piece of steel to conect it all... PLATE MOUNT DONE! (we of course will powder this sucker before it is "done"
granted they still need powder, but it is TIGHT into the shaft drive, and looks good, best of all, we are LEGAL with it mounted horiz, the cops out this way have been really cracking down on the vert mounted plates

we also had some extra time, some 1 in bar, so we decided to make up some bars for grins... here is what we came up wiht... still need to tig them in but they are pretty dope! (def not going on the goldwing but maybe one of the chops or HD's that come though)

Before

blasted:

Headers are done... Powder: high heat flat black

the mufflers are in the oven now, those are done in regular flat black (same as we have used on the rest of the bike) there is no need to use high temp on them
will get some pics up after they come out
hey those dyna mags are totally negociable

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
long day in the shop yesterday!!! all the powder work is now completed on the G wing, got both muffler clamps done, the plate bracket (i also shaved that down so the washer was not so ugly), choke support, and mufflers
only thing that may have to be coated is after we mount the ignition the bracket that we make will ahve to be shot... but that is all! ... hope to fire her up some time this week! ... pic to come
decided to install all the new powder work we did
got the new exhaust gaskets in, headers on, mufflers on, clamps nice and tight (we also powdered the sporty clamps that hold on the muffler), got the new master support on, relocated the choke cable and got that brace on, then installed the plate moutn and have that locked in... from there i added some support bolts from the top of the air box into the tool tray so that that does not bounce around with the guages mounted to it... then called it a night... hope to get fluids in her tonight and my brother and i will start to button up the wiring on her
master support

plate mount (looks much better with the shaved down washer)
