well here is our newest shop build... called FLAT OUT... 81 goldwing GL1100. it is being built for Sean (my busn partner) his bike got stolen a few months ago and it was time to do something wild for him. Being that it is his bike wait till you see the powder work on this thing! finally got him to want to work on some of his own stuff, and have to say he is designing a wicked looking bike! I know alot of you know of Sean so i wanted to share the build we are working on now with ya'll
when we got her home
going to be along these lines
with this style seat (so he can still take out his girl)
tear down
let the powder begin!
blasted
round one out of the oven (most of these parts are in really rough shape so they take an outgass cycle, primer, then top coat... and the other color we are using needs a base coat... so yes it takes a while to get perfect and looking like new)
alright! we are about 85% of completed with the powder... check out that making work!!!!
flat black
on the cases the letters will stay flat black and the rest will be all in the flat red, here is a shot of them with the base coat on them for the letters... is a pain cause now we have to do the red base coat and top coat, timing the powders flow out temp to keep the letters from having an uneven surface to the rest of the powder... takes some work but will be a good stand out feature
we are on track to have the bike 75-85% done by this weekend

What a lot of work you're doing w/ the PC! I really like the looks of this bike. The straight seat on the other one...not so much.
Nearly 40 years ago my ride was a Honda 750-4; that was a great bike in all ways (for the era, maybe still). Bought it with a wrecked front-end for $700; repaired and lowered it a bit front and rear, myself. Had it up to 115mph riding double; that's all it would go. Kinda miss it, in a way...or maybe that's my youth.
I know these Wings are a lot stronger (and bigger and heavier), and it looks way cool bobbed, too. Used, these must be pretty cheap nowadays. Should fly with all the crap taken off.
Question: Does the powder coating reduce the cooling any on the radiator? Or not any worse than paint?
not any worse than paint at all, my sport bike has the cooler done and for some reason the bike runs about 4 degrees cooler now, i am more betting that is from the fresh coolant more than anyhting!
