Default Oxidizing inner fairing solution

So when I asked the dealer about what I could do to make my once black/now ugly oxidized inner fairing look better, he suggested pig spit or painting it. Today, just for the hell of it, I tried using Meguiar's leather wipes that I use on my seat. Worked like a charm! Wiped it on, then dried it off with a clean cotton cloth and the fairing looks almost brand-new again. Has anyone else tried this or something else that worked?

STP Son-of-a-gun also will work to keep plastic and vinyl looking like new. Just be sure to wipe off excess or you'll collect dust like crazy.
