Speedo and check engine light issues

My speedo has a voltage reader on it, so it is easy for me to monitor the battery charge level and whittle down what may be wrong. If I start my bike and it reads 12 to 13 volts and holds steady, I know it's fine. About a month ago I noticed it was not holding a charge and had to have my stator replaced. Looking at the Op's problem he has something else going on, his bike holds a charge it is just screwing up a couple of electrical components (i.e. blinkers), hence why it sounds like a voltage regulator problem to me - the right voltage is not being sent to the various components, hence screwing them up.

Yeah Folsom, had a new stator installed last year, also had entire charging system checked a couple of months back and said everything checked good but that the voltage regulator could check good and then 10 minutes later check bad sooo dunno, could be the problem. Our service manager said the turn signals were tied into the VSS as well as the Bank angle sensor and that was why he was really sure it is our VSS

As well as the new stator last year we also had to have a new tranny, replaced the stock 5 speed with a SE 6 speed but they apparently just re-used our original 15 year old VSS so I am inclined to think that's probably the issue.

Well it looks like Folsom wins the cupie doll. Just replaced the voltage regulator this morning and speedo and everything else are working just fine now. Thanks to all for your help.

I have a 2000 Dyna doing the exact same thing.....What was the fix?
I am having an issue with my 2000 wide glide. The turn signals flash 6 times when the ignition is turned on, TSSM still working properly, (Already read the threads on that issue) but along with that my speedo goes out and the odometer goes blank and check engine light comes on whenever I am moving. when I stop and am just at idle engine light goes out and odometer comes back on. Other than that bike seems to be running just fine, any one else experienced this issue or any ideas? Thanks
