204's do sound nice i agree. In your 88" bike that cam wont really be gaining it's legs till around 2500 rpm is that low enough RPM's for you? If so great choice.

Hmm that seems a little high but then again I do like the idea of roll-on power on the highway. Will the 204s (or any of these cams for that matter) be a truly noticeable difference in my pants dyno over stock?

Yes you will definitely feel it. It's very difficult to get the low end torque up much with such a small, low compression motor. That's why it's best to do a big bore also. The exhaust will really dictate where the cams "come on".

I am going stick to my original post. for strong bottom end through mid range i say the SE-255 cam. It aint the highest peak HP cam by a long shot and the top end sucks !!! But if you want to have a quick out the hole cam and pull like a old farm tractor then it's a pretty good choice.

It wouldn't be my choice of cams but you want to stay with the Screamin Eagle cam's, If i had my choice of cams i recomend the Andrews 26 cam for what your trying to do. I run a Andrews 57-H cam in my 88" motor but i don't need need the lower end power like you.

They don't make the 255 for his 05. Could also look at the Andrews 48.

Ok two questions why not for one? he updated his cam plate so he can use any 2007 and newer cam now. And the second question is why would you think the Andrews 48 would bolt in and not the SE-255 ? Although i will agree the 48 would be another fine choice for his style.

Updated cam plate just means hydraulic conversion. The kit intended for pre 06 still uses outer cam bearings. Even if he used an 06-up style plate the inner cam bearing is smaller on pre 06 requiring a conversion cam which has a small inner bearing and large outer, which Andrews and others make but Harley doesn't. Some companies sell their cams in 3 different styles, pre 06, 06-up or conversion. Harley only offers the 255 for 06-up.

My local has some kind of vendetta against Andrews...so I guess they are off the table LOL

I think I've narrowed it down to the SE 204 or the Feuling 525. The 525 seems to "come on" a little earlier than the 204 and supposedly have a better torque curve...but everyone has a different opinion. Anybody running these???
