Default axel nut

I have found a few lists of torque values. However thay all give me different values to torque the axel nut. Which one do i listen to?one says 60-65 ft lbs another says 95-105 ft lbs and the last says 16-18 ft lbs. My bike is a 2003 fxdl

I don't have your bikes' SM, but whoever does will need to know which axel nut you are talking about. I can say that 16-18 ft lbs is not the right one.

My guess would be 60-65 for the front axle nut, 16-18 for the front axle cap (bottom of the right leg) and 95-105 for the rear axle. Just a guess.. Shop manuals are great tools

60-65 is listed for the rear axle nut on a 2000 Dyna, 50-55 for the front

I would be inclined to go with that number unless someone has an '03 FSM

Edit: the second link for 2003 looks pretty much like the list in my FSM

How come you don't have a HD shop manual?
