Default First Harley is a Switchback

Hello all, I just bought my first Harley a 2012 Switchback with stage 1 and Vance & Hines slip on, the previous owner added the electronic cruise and the light kit. When I first test rode the bike I couldn't believe how the thing accelerated and handled, I was grinning ear to ear. Having ridden sport bikes for the last 30 years I wasn't sure about getting a 700+ pound bike but I think I will forget the other 3 street bikes in the garage in favor of this one.

Here's a question to those that have this bike and have added the electronic cruise; where did the ECU get mounted on your bike? Mine is mounted in a very conspicuous place where it can't be covered up, on the the rear fender. It looks hideous

good choice, I bought a '14 FLD a couple of months ago.

I haven't added cruise, but you can find info on it at the Switchback forums:

Congrats on the bike. Nice choice. Rode sport for many years and I still enjoy jumping on my wife's Ducati now and then, but I'm alway glad to get back to my Harley. The Duc is great but if I'm not carving a canyon or hitting 90 it just feels wasted. The Harley is perfect just looking at it, sitting on it, firing it up, idling, putting between traffic lifts, cruising in the country AND blasting a canyon (not as fast but just as exciting) or hitting 90.
These bikes do it all really well. Enjoy.

That's because "They" mounted it. Can't you find some other spot like under the seat, behind or under the battery box, or in the electrical cover?

the guy on the switchback owners site that makes the plate to mount it there ALSO makes a cover for it which this person I guess decided not to buy..

we found with the cables available this was the best place to mount the cruise servo
and it makes it easier to wire in also... if you aren't a member of the owners forum
join up and make a post requesting the cruise cover and he will get in touch with you
