New Fat Bob Owner
Just traded in my sporty on a 2014 Fat Bob. I absolutely love it.
Coming from dirt bikes and crotch rockets to the sportster was a big difference. BUT this Fat Bob is just amazing in comparison as far as ride quality. I dont have to tell you, but this thing just floats on the freeway (a big part of my commute). I also dont feel like i have to have a windshield where on the sporty i did.
There are a couple things i dont like, but they are easy to change. One being that i am only 5'8" the pegs work, but are kind of a stretch for me. Im going to pick up a pair of floorboards off of ebay. Ill get the HD kit later on after i recoop from the down payment.
And the exhaust. Dear lord this thing is just way to quiet. I tried drilling 4 5/16" holes in the baffles, but they are still very quiet.
I found a set of Screamin Eagle slip ons locally for 125.00 complete with head pipes too. They look mint. Are these decent? I dont want something insanely loud i like it somewhat muffled. And is this a good price?
Finally, i dont like that i have to lean the bike to the right in order to get the jiffy stand down and in place. Is this normal?
Heres a pic of it next to the sporty, and one in the back yard.
Not a fan of slip-ons but does sound like a nice price but there is a reason they are affordable - a lot of owners buy them, then sell them but there are some who keep them and are happy.
Hard to believe about the windshield, one of my first mods.
Might consider going to mids, I grew on on dirt bikes too and really enjoy my mids that I just put on - makes me feel more like a rider instead of a cruiser.
As far as the Jiffy stand, same here...no words of wisdom I know of.
I had a Sporty, then a Super Glide Custom, now a Fat Bob. I've rode about every model of bike in HD's current & recent lineup, and the Fat Bob is hands down my favorite, which I why I bought one. I've done a lot to mine since I bought it last fall, and that all takes $$, but be patient and make it what you want over time.
Nice color scheme, love the new fat bob paint scheme..... Great choice. Be careful!

I like having the forward controls i dont think i would like mids. I do find myself using the passenger pegs every once in a while to stretch
