my 07 Street Bob occasionally suffers from a sticky shifter, usually when it's hot...
when it happens, you shift down to first and the pedal stays down, it doesn't return to center... you can give it a nudge and it'll go back but that's a little more thought than i want to give to my feet while i'm riding...
anyone have any clues to a cause/remedy?

Try a little oil on the moving linkage and pivot points, look for signs of rust that might be helping bind things.
If they have been too heavily oiled in the past, old oil can get gummy and collect dirt/fouling,,
I'd clean everything, look for rust and re-lube before I go looking for anything else.

factory mids... although I did replace the linkage with an aftermarket one
thanks, i automatically thought it would be inside but i'll take a look at the heim joints and clean em up tonight.
