Hi everyone, I live in New Zealand and will be coming over to america for a holiday part of it I will be staying at a uncles who lives down the road from fuelmoto. I have a 2012 fatbob with the 103 motor and a pair of short shots. I plan on getting a air filter and a power vision and a set of woods cams. What do you fellow dyna riders suggest i would prefer not to have to touch the heads but i will if i have to. I ride a lot of twisty hilly roads and like to twist the throttle.
If you are going to be staying close to fuel Moto Give them a call I am sure they will be more than willing to help you..they were cool enough to write me a custom tune even though My bike came with the power vision I didn't buy it from them... Good people
When it comes to easy starting, you may need comp releases depending on your choice of Woods cams...so the heads are going to come off anyway. I've went with S&S E-Z starts on last 2 stock engine hop ups for that reason; no problem in 100f heat.
Choosing from the Wood's cams and no Big Bore or headwork, I would pick the 555s. Now if you ride 2 up a lot or just love most of your power in the lower rpms then get the 222s.
If you go outside of the Wood's lineup, I would use the Andrews 57s.

I agree with this. I'm running the 555s in a 103 and am very happy with the performance. The consensus is they like a little more compression than stock, which can be solved with thinner head gaskets, which is what I did. I've got ported heads with stock valves, and I am running compression releases.
Will the tw-222 still rev to say 5500rpm and be fun. I have read that drop off they still must be better than the stock cams at those revs.
The bike will still rev to 5500 rpms and to the limiter for that matter, but the torque will be dropping off for sure. If you like hanging out at higher rpms then the 555s would be a better choice.
