I waited almost a month and a half for a set of 12" Nash Midget Gimps and they aren't dimpled or knurled. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get them to work? I think I may just send them back and get a set of Z bars to avoid the headache.
Are you going to run the wires thru the bars? If so no problem, you won't need dimples. My bars arn't knurled either. I places a thin piece of rubber between the bars and the risers and seems to work pretty good. However I recently hit a huge bump at 65 MPH and the bars did move alittle, It was a pretty big bump though I think I got air.
Tireater,
I've been holing off getting the bars I wanted because they don't come dimpled notching the hand controls BRILLIANT! Damn dude thanks for makin me feel like a stump..
That is kinda what I was thinking, drill them out on a drill press. The rubber, like a tube from a bike tire?
I'v heard that bike tire tube works. I just used some thin rubber I had laying around the shop. I used a endmill and slotted my bars, If a endmill is not available I'd drill two holes next to each other and file in between them to make a slot.
daily driver - heard this tip on another board...guy said he did it a bunch of times...I thinkI did it with a 4" Makita and reg. cutoff blade..
Take your time and don't cut too much off - 1/2 hour job...total...
Thinking about it was harder than doing it....
