Default 200mm on but tight

Hey guys, so I did a bunch of stuff over the winter, including the air ride suspension and the 200mm tire mod. Bike looks sick, but I am concerned with the 200mm under the stock fender. My problem is that the struts are not centered and so the tire sits closer to the left than it does to the right. I've got about 8mm-10mm on the right, but only 1mm or 2mm on the left. Do you guys think that is too close? I haven't ridden it yet, but I plan on taking in for a short test ride tonight to see if I get any rubbing at all. I am thinking of just trying to bend that one strut out a little bit, but they are stiff as hell and I am afraid that I will tip the bike trying to get enough leverage to actually bend it out a little. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Oh, and I did have a shop true my wheel and do the offset correctly, so it is set up for stock offset with an adjustment for the extra width of the wheel.

Here is the bike with the wheel on and the air ride completely dropped (still on the chock at this point as I need to finish wiring my plate/brake light.

1-2mm is too close for my comfort level. I find it hard to believe that its normal that it would be off center. Seems like your options would be changing the dish of the wheel to move it over, or heat up and bend the struts. Neither sounds like a good option to me.

Bike looks awesome though.

I have seen a bottle jack put between the struts to open it up a little. Have to pull the fender.

I did the jack method, but I am concerned it's gonna bend both sides out. I really only need clearance on the left side.

As for it being off center, I noticed it was even with the stock wheel, but when you are running a pizza cutter, it doesn't really matter. I thought about changing the offset a bit, maybe I will just have to do that.

According to the service manual, there is a window for the offset measurement, it's not an exact measurement. This window might be able to adjust over to center the wheel more. Take the wheel back to your truer and have them move the offset over about 4-5mm, this should put you more center decreasing to wider side from 8-10mm to 4-6mm and increasing the other side from 1-2mm to 4-6mm. This would be much easier and cheaper then trying to modify your frame or buying parts to change spacing.

Bike looks good by the way, looks like the root beer color HD had for a minute.

Not saying this is your exact problem, but with the bike level left to right, check the distance from the swing arm to the floor on both sides and make sure that your entire drive train is level.

I just got done moving the left strut 1/2" with a 36" pipe wrench. Have someone sit on the bike. I strapped it to the truck on the opposite side and 2 quick tugs did the job. Mine got tweaked in in an accident but method should be the same. Wrench was 22 bucks at harbor freight. Grip it over the top with the wrench and go slow it moves a lot easier then you would think.

Check your rear tire to motor/trans alignment. The adjuster is above the motor underneath the gas tank. You basically jack it up level and then measure the camber of the front and rear brake rotors. Another way quick way to see is ride your bike thru some dirt and then onto pavement and see if the dirt goes directly down center of tire and not off to either side.

Sounds like your rear wheel is tilted over to far to the side with the lower clearance.

I have had a Metzeler 200 since 2011 and I can tell you there is minimal clearance between the struts and belt but I have never had a rubbing issue. Once it is set correctly, there will be no side-to-side movement.

Thanks man, I'll give it a go.

What did you measure to ensure the frame itself was level before measuring the wheel camber? Top of the struts? Bottom frame tubes?
