I'd say the torque is about the same maybe not quite as "push you backwards" as the previous pipes which of course had been tuned vs. a canned map to start. Definitely very smooth though, (and I know it'll kick *** once set properly).
I was a bit worried about the muffled Supertrapp sound that sometimes comes across in videos. No need to worry, it sounds great and when you open up the throttle you definitely still hear it and it's a nice smooth sound.
Best part though for me, is that once up to speed or simply chugging along the wind carries so much more of the volume by virtue of the muffler being further back. I can still hear it but it's not the dominant sound around me.
I'm a happy camper.
Honestly, I'm pretty surprised you didnt notice a seat of the pants torque increase compared to those short pythons you had before. The 2-1 advantage should feel pretty significant.
I couldn't wait any longer. Just ordered one off e-bay....
Installed the open end cap on the FXDX and took it out for a spin yesterday, with 14 disks plus the open end cap. Bike sounded more aggressive, but nothing that will rattle the neighbor's walls. The mods on the Supertrapp forum state that the open end cap is equivalent to having 10 disks installed. So I've probably got too many disks on right now with the open end cap installed. Will remove 8 disks and see what happens today.

Awesome looking forward to the report! Maybe a quick vid?
Mine is supposedly due in on Tues-Wed. I have a dyno appt for Friday. And, of course, I'll be away all weekend. I have a feeling it's going to be a late night on Friday...
Question: I'm not 100% thrilled with the teardrop SE AC. If I change to another style - probably just the round Screaming Eagle, that shouldn't have any effect on the dyno, should it? I'm just trying to gauge if I should change it before I dyno...
Or should I be looking at a different air cleaner? Only thing I don't want to worry about is having to put a damn sock over it if it rains...

If the new AC changes the volume of airflow, it would be prudent to do the Dynotune after you swap out ACs. .02 cents.
Oh man Robby, you gotta check this one out, too cool!
Where the heck do you come up with this stuff! The murdered in the basement was aptly hidden, I do like the Primus one though!!

I'm not sure, I know that I had the wrong map installed. This morning on my way to work I changed it to the one Chris at V&H recommended. It sure is smooth in the curve, but I'll bet a chunk of it is mental, I'm so used to hearing the extremely loud python and equating it with throttle that maybe I'm desensitized (sp?) in that I'm not getting two sources of feedback (audio and feel)? Dunno. I will say that I'm getting up to speed beautifully and this is pre-auto tune, etc. The current map is not truly optimized for the cams and such but V&H is building me one.
Yesterday I hit a straightaway and I got up to 115 ft lbs or torque in 5th as measured by the FP3 before I had to slow down as measured by the FP3 which is supposed to be within 5-10% so I know that it's higher than before.

I've heard many say that most aftermarket AC's are basically the same from a flow standpoint so long as the one you're replacing is similar (not stock), but my OCD would probably wait until I had changed prior to tune. If you're just changing covers though I don't think it would matter. Hopefully a tech person can chime in.
