I've put about 600 (somewhat aggressive) miles on the pipe and I've noticed it recently getting a bit louder and "sharper" (in a good way) - not quite so muffled. Anyone else notice that? Getting to where I'm no longer thinking about the open cap... Nice!

Ditto for me. Just ride 190 miles to the York PA factory for a tour, hope to dodge rain on the way home. Cruising with this pipe is so freaking nice. Definitely louder now especially when cranking.
Same here. As I rode it the sound got louder to a point. I got an open end cap and tried it with 10 discs and I really like the sound there. It seems to run really well too with lots of low end torque but better high rpm power.
At first it was really quiet with the closed end cap. I mean really quiet.

Yes it is, i've noticed that too. No need for an open cap, at least for me.
Question on your supertrapp and shocks, any clearance issues with the higher shocks? Did you have to space it out?
Well I'm using Works Black Trackers in stock length so no problems. But I can't see how longer ones would be a problem
FYI
13" progressive 444's installed on my '14 SB with a supertrapp supermeg exhaust and no cleareance issues. There's about an inch between the axle nut and the pipe. It looks killer now, i like how she sits with the higher shocks!
