Supermeg in the house!
That being said, I agree, I really want to be there while they dyno...
They call me Wed afternoon - "have a small glitch... we ordered the wrong model.. Just ordered the right one and hopefully it'll be here tomorrow" (yesterday) - I expected it not to, but it did arrive yesterday, they dyno'd it last night and still need to do a couple of odds and ends I wanted done. So I'll be getting it later today. I'm waiting patiently...
However... The ride home was NICE. Chart says I went from 70.6hp and 86.7tq to 77.1hp and 95.1tq. Smooth power from the start. Real nice. I'll admit, the supermeg is way quiet, especially when at low throttle. Definitly gets louder when on it, but I think I may need an open end cap. However as I just shelled out $400 for the tune, not sure I want to mess with it. I'm pretty happy with those numbers from only an A/C and a pipe.
I'll have to wait for it to stop raining and dry off and maybe I'll get out later, but I'm expected to spend the evening with the GF, so it's not looking good.
Here's a photo at least... Not a good one, but something at least. Yes, I know I need a cover for the A/C.

Thanks! Further forwards work fine. Kept them. Funny, my Cycle Shacks were so damn loud, and this seems so quite, I'm going to wait before I change anything - maybe I need to withdraw from the 'got used to crazy loud pipes" syndrome. Who knows.

I actually installed the open end cap and went down to 12 disks last week. The sound is definitely a little louder and throatier, less muffled. But I guess I wasn't ready for that yet and this morning put the closed end cap back on with the 20. Still louder than stock, comes alive nicely when twisting but reasonable throughout. I'll definitely keep the open end for a later date though!
Edit: just talked to them. Yep, used all 20 discs.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I made about 10 backup copies of the tune off my PV and have them pretty much everywhere lol.
Maybe I am being too picky but it seems like the heat shielding does not fit real well. It appears that the rear pipe shield could be 1/4" longer to fit up to the muffler shield a little better. Also the muffler shield seems to be right up against the muffler on the top with a big gap at the bottom.. There are some places here the shield is touching the front and rear pipes. I tried wiggling things around as much as I could but I could not make it any better. Mchad's picture above seems to show the same fitment.
Also when I bolted the muffler to the support bracket it did not lay flat. The rear of the muffler was touching the rear of the bracket but the front muffler to bracket had a 3/8" gap. There wasn't enough wiggle in the support bracket where it bolts to the trans to make it any better so I just tightened the bracket bolts first and tightened the muffler clamp last.
Maybe I'll call Supertrapp today and see what they say.
I got to put some miles on it last night and boy is it quiet. I think it is even quieter than the stock Street Bob exhaust. I can now hear the fuel pump in the tank, the sewing machine under the gas tank, the tires on the road and the gears in the trans....Oh yeah, and my wife talking too. I am running all 20 discs. I might have to try the open end cap and less discs to see what that sounds like.
Around here it is highly highly unusual to see a quiet Harley, almost all of them are loud. Even the new bikes usually have exhaust put on before delivery. You can hear the "Loud Pipes Save Lives" mantra echoing off of the hills.
Personally I like it less loud but this will take some getting used to.
That being said:
It seems to run a lot better than before. I always had trouble Autotuning with the PV, It would never seem to stabilize. After asking around it seems that the stock pipes O2 sensor positioning left a lot to be desired when using free flowing slip ons. The positioning and the depth of the O2 sensors seems much better on the SuperMegg than stock.
It Autotuned up nicely after only 3 runs and now it seems smoother and more powerful but quieter than my old setup of stock head pipes and V&H Twin Slash slip ons. Low end torque is really nice. It leaves a stop sign effortlessly with a passenger on.
Fuel mileage appears to be up too but time will tell.
