Grats, nice bike. You don't have to do anything.. sure the stock pipes wont shatter any windows at idle, but they're still fairly loud, just not 70s Harley loud. I actually put on my half helmet last week and forgot my earplugs and I was surprised how much louder it was than I thought, and how much my 3/4 helmet and/or earplugs muffle it.
as far as the stage one map without stage 1.. I will say I get a fair amount of decal popping because they send them off the line lean. I was going to talk with them about it at the 1k service coming up. Maybe I can get it done for free hahaha yeah right!
Interesting about the de-catted exhaust. How did you do this. Did you cut open the cat or drill it out with a coring bit? I may want to do that for reduction of heat. I noticed that the o2 sensors are upstream of the cat so it will not affect computer. Cant really do that on cars without serious revision of tuning because most have a sensor post-cat.
Thanks
Bill
I just used drills and cutting bits, took me about 90 min, once you get the main core removed, the rest will come out easy leaving it totally clean without cutting anything open. use a shop vac to remove the remaining loose debris.
you will notice a bit more sound and lot of heat reduction in that area.
I'm from the Goldsboro area.
I may cut the cat out or I may have a line on a pipe that another customer from my dealer has taken off his new low rider. I know a metal guy that will gut it and weld it back up for around $100.00
Then I will have a headpipe that will flow better. Lets see... a Supertrap muffler and a Big Sucker air cleaner...OH NO!!!I'm falling down the rabbit hole.
Its an addiction.
Did the same stuff to my 95 dresser and to my 11 Triumph Bonneville

that is up to you, I recommend the drill out method, will come out totally clean, save yourself 100 bucks.
