How did that work out?
Both my bikes came with forwards (and still have them), but I much prefer mids. Way easier to shift your body weight around for better clearance in corners, or lift your body a little when going over big bumps.

Another vote for mids with highway pegs here. Just did 3000+ miles in the NW 5 states entirely on backroads/2 lane. With mids I could stand up for a few moments on straight stretches, move my feet back and forth while cruising and felt really in control in the many, many miles of twisties. When I first bought the bike I rode to Sturgis with only the factory forwards; don't have a clue how you "forward" control guys put up with that one position all day...
Rather than highway pegs on plates, mine are V-Rod pegs on a chopped engine guard...works well enough to give a guy a leg break

Hey Jester
go to the dealership and see if they have a demo bike you could try for an hour or so Im 5 10 and 32 inseam probably 33 with my boots i would cramp up in the hips and would have to stand up at traffic lights to stretch the forwards to me are like sitting in a chair not really as forward as you think

Just a little experience from what I learned changing bars and or seats will also affect comfort and foot positioning , the ever ending mods that we do lol

I just recently put Reduced Forwards on mine. I left the Mid Mounts for the riding the curves. It seems to be the best of both worlds. then Last week I installed the further mid mounts. I like them too. with futher mids and reduced reach forwards I can span my feet across both pegs to really vary my feet position.

So you have forward controls with just pegs for the mids? I'm thinking about this option because I do like my brake and gear shift forward but wouldn't mind just the mid pegs for position adjustability sometimes.

When I was first looking into buying a Harley, I did not know anything about them. I liked the Fat Bob best by far but coming from a crotch rocket I could not live with the forwards. They felt so unnatural when I tested the FB. I also did not want to pay extra for the mid-conversion so I ended up buying the Street Bob. (Little did I know at the time that I actually bought the better alternative for my needs. Better Dyna canvas for continuous mods.)

Now I liked the mids a lot but got terrible cramps in my hips in longer rides. I have 32' inseam. So I installed the highway pegs pretty quickly. Also installed the mini-floorboards. This combo I used for a year and thought is was quite nice.

But as I learned more about Dynas I just could not get the thought of floorboards out of my mind. After months of consideration I bought Switchback take-offs from ebay. Had them lying around for 3 months as I was too lazy to put them on. Also even when I had them bought I was not 100% sure if they were the ticket for me.

But once I got myself doing the mod I was wondering to myself why I did not do it sooner. The first short test ride I did was an instant revelation. This is what I was looking for all along. So comfortable from the get-go and I can move my legs so freely depending if I am in the twisties or straight highway.

Now I would really like to put Softail slim half-moon boards to the brackets and the brake pad also. I just not sure if they fit the dyna brackets? Maybe someone here knows?

My Dyna as it stands now.

. I heel shifted when I had my bike with mid controls and highway pegs. I have forward controls on this bike but just got it a couple months ago and only have 700 miles on it so not sure how it will be on long runs yet. I’m thinking I will end up putting on mid mounts and pegs. I too like to stand on the miss. I also sit on the back seat of my street bob. Looks funny/stupid to others probably but after 3-400 miles I don’t care what others think.
