As long as I'm getting new 48 Andrew's cams installed is it worth cutting out the catalytic converter out of the stock head pipe performance wise. Common sense says yes but the main issue is I don't want to lose any bottom end power. I like the look of the stock Fat Bob pipe & want to keep it. I running 2" slip-ons now with the stock set-up.
Would it be wise to install a 30 tooth pulley at the same time? I love bottom to mid range power.
How much is a fair price from an independent for installing cams. I'm providing all the parts.
Thanks guys.

Seriously??? Lol. The words "cams" and "Catalytic" being used in the same paragraph. Yikes. This is like lifting a truck and not putting bigger tires on it because you don't want it to be top heavy...
Get a real pipe if you are gonna install cams. Decatting a stock pipe isn't hard, but the flow still sucks out of stock mufflers and will choke out the performance anyway. After 3500 it will ride a lil better w the cam, but it really needs an open exhaust to get any decent power out of it. A decatted pipe w cams works but isn't much better than a stage 1. A better exhaust will yield the credits you are looking for.
The 30t definitely helps out, even d stock cams. I'm running a chain drive w approximate gearing of 30t pulley. Haven't installed cams yet, but it keeps up w my buddy and his cammed up 96ci w the 30t
