The seat that was on my bike when I bought it doesn't seem to fit correctly.
There is a date stamp on the bottom of the seat that looks to me like it is pointing at 10-03.
I looked at photos of '04 Super Glides and this seat looks like ones I've seen on them.
My bike is a 2010. Would a '04 seat not fit on a '10 very well?
No, it will not fit very well. In 2006 the frames were changed, so any seats from 2005 or earlier would have different mounts. Any seat from 2006 or newer will fit your bike.
I am not familiar with these stamps but my interpretation is about Oct 1st 2002.
There is a little dot above the 1 and one above the 7. I think these are from holes in the disc that are not meant to indicate anything.
There is also a bit of a mark below the 11.
That V is so prominent that it makes me think that it is an indicator.

I agree on the V being the indicator, dont think those dots mean anything either.
The reason I pick 2002 is if you look to where the "V" points to in the year circle, it is about 3/4 of the way between 2002 and 2003 - just like Oct 1st is 3/4 of the way through a year.

Oh I see, like an analog clock. Almost to 03 but not quite yet.
I was thinking that it was manually set and was just a little careless in the aiming.
