Not really. I did find another machine just to check accuracy of readings and they are indeed correct. It was recommended that perhaps I have a Sumping issue since I really should be higher with the build. So when I get back home this weekend I was going to check that out. I just need to know whether the engine should be running when I pull the crankcase plug or just at operating temp. That's what in hoping for.
got the last parts for my build yesterday, no just need to find some time to tear it appart...
here is the final list :
57H cams
Wood lifters
Smith Brothers pushrods
Cometic kit with 0.030"
PowerVision, to get rid of the SEPST
I may do some work on the head when they are off...

Awesome! I saw your thread on the other forum, will you do the heads yourself? Would be very cool to see how that's done.
We have all the machines at my work (I do both cylinder heads/engines and car/truck mechanic where I work).
I have a spare set of heads (brand new take off) that I'll port/put bigger valves/springs/CC, to get it ready for my futur 107/110 build.
I don't konw if it is worth doing some minor headwork for my current build... I was thinking about opening the valve seat throat, a fresh valvejob (with backcut on the valve) and casting cleaning on the ports...
If i remember correctly, the 57H are made for stock unported heads, and some sheets i've seen don't show much more HP/TQ with ported heads..

Hope my sentences makes senses :S
They do!
I think there has been some decent feedback recently that the 57's do pretty well with ported heads, even if not quite the same as some other cams. But frankly, I think you should do it, even if for no other reason than to keep us other keyboard warriors entertained with great pics!
Well, I opened the plug after warming the engine and about 7oz came out. Not sure if this counts as sumping or not, but apparently if it is then that can rob some power and tq. I guess the next questions is if this is a symptom, what do I start to look for to fix it?
The 57H cams do like head work. I had Kirby at Vee Twin Racing do his street port job on my heads. Compression is now 10.25 to 1, 1.90 int and 1.61 exhaust valves. 10 HP and 10 TQ
Got it. I did replace the o rings when I did the cams but will look to make sure I didn't mess up. The bike was on the jiffy stand so maybe more would have come out if it was level?
