Well I haven't pulled the drain plug yet to see if there is any tangible difference in the oil there and if it was in fact sumping, I want to today if possible.
I will say that today I had to ride to a couple of work sites and really got to play on the throttle, not sure if it's mental or not but the bike definitely feels even better than it did before (is "torquier" a real word?). I'm not sure if simply ensuring that oil is flowing better would require another tune but if you think it would have had an impact I know that my tuner would be happy to do a touch up. I'm not throwing any error codes or anything but the bike feels amazing!
Got some time to work on the bike today :
57H cams are in, along with Koyo bearings and Woods lifters... needed to cut an allen wrench to get one of the lifters block screw. Camchest is closed, everything is torqued right. I separated the oil pump so i can check if the back o-ring was seated correctly.
Exhaust, Tank are off, had some hard time removing the TB assembly (use the back side of a 7mm hex bit (1/4"), holding the 7mm part in a wrench...), Rockers are off, just need to undo the 8 head bolts and swap the 0.030" HG, and then put everything back together !!
Nice! Did you decide on headwork? Tip on the throttle body installation, some soapy water will help get it aligned so that the gaskets can slide around a bit. Took me forever until I did something similar. Probably the most difficulty I had with the build.
No headwork for now, but i'll port my second set of heads for my futur 107 build (hope soon, but €€€€)...
Some saids to use silicon lube/grease to ease the sliding of the gaskets... How do you align it ? Bolting the backplate and the breathers beofre torquing the intake flanges ?
almost finished, just need to put the pushrods and adjust them, exhaust and tank...
doing some work on the dpv map right know. Robby, could you share your map to compare some tune items ?
btw, what's the consensus about EITMS for our Dyna ? thinking about tunrning it on or not...
Good luck Frederic! Pushrods are kind of fun. I did mine three times before I was 100% happy with them. Still.....it doesn't take long. One tip is to have some paper clips and rubber bands to hold the tubes up and out of the way.
Oh - and some TippEx to mark the pushrods and adjusters so you know home many turns/flats you have adjusted them by.
On the EITMS - personally I have it turned on. In the last two years with this bike it has only activated once and that was when I had spent a whole (hot) day doing slow speed drills in a car park. The bike was smoking hot by the end of that as there was no real airflow over the motor. When it activated, I just took it as a sign to get off the bike and let it cool down while I got a coffee.
(EDIT: Robby - if you are sharing maps, I'd be interested in seeing yours for comparison purposes as well. Still haven't got my bike on the dyno yet, but it's running like a demon!)
