Default New Member needs Ideas

Howdy. I'm a new member and just looking for some ideas. I've got a 2010 super glide that I've had for a little over a year now. I bought it for $7000 with 7500 miles on it. I'm wanting to swap the handlebars, seat, relocate the front signals, replace the throttle and idle cables, paint the engine black, and put some speakers on the handlebars. I went to lube the cables last fall and they are rusted out and shot. I'm wanting some bars with about a 6" or 8" rise and just wanted to see some pictures or ideas of what you guys are running. Also, I'm going to use the Harley wrinkle black paint on the engine and was looking to see who has done this and how extensive of a job it is to get the motor out? Any and all help, suggestions, or customization ideas are greatly appreciated. I'm 21 and paid cash for my first Harley and couldn't be more excited.
Upgrades: V&H Big Shots, V&H programmer, Stage 1 air breather

There are so many options,
Just start cruising around the forum reading topics that interest you, there's more info here then can be absorbed in a few days or even weeks.
Just slow down and look, you'll get your own ideas, not what someone else wants to do to your bike.

p.s. those are Big Radius pipes, not Big Shots

Welcome, I went for comfort and storage without buying a bagger, but that's just me. Nice starting point you have there, That's what is so great about a DYNA, just make it yours and have fun.

I'd just ride it and make my decisions about what I wanted based of the feel I was looking for. Most of all I would just ride it every chance I got.

Front motor mount upgrade before it fail. Infamous for premature wear and failure.

21 you say...

What did you ride before?

How about investing in yourself with some advanced training? (Unless you've already done so.)

Nice bike you have there. Since you're in Ohio, you might want to get some battery charger leads so you can easily "plug in" your battery anytime.

EDIT~ After looking at your new to you bike, how about black powder coating the triple clamps and fork sliders? Maybe the wheels too? That would look unique, just like everyone else...

That's a nice canvas to start your vision of the ideal motorcycle on

I completely agree with NORTY FLATZ; training training training. And yea, a Battery Tender

Before I started any 'pretty' mods I'd look at my performance upgrades first. Are you running an optimal map with the V&H tuner? Is the A/C truly a free flowing design or can you do better? For sure I'd absolutely pull those baffles out of the Big Radius pipes and install some W158 Thunder Torque Inserts to improve the low and mid range performance and deepen the tone of the pipes.
