S&S must have realized the valve train noise being caused by the previous shallow extension at 15 flats (0.1035") as opposed to 18 flats (0.1242"). Your looking for an end result with limited valve train noise without over extension. Shoot for a distance between 0.130"-0.140" and you will be good to go. Start with the recommended 18 flats, run it to operating temps and see how it sounds. The beauty of these pushrods is that you can adjust them to fit your motor, and match its expansion at operating temps.

Flats/Distance
18/0.1242"
19/0.1311"
20/0.138"

I am using the Quickie Pushrods with 32 TPI on my motor. S&S recommends 18 TPI (0.0936") but I have them set at 24 flats (0.1248"). At 18 flats, my valve train sounded like a shaking can full of rocks. At 24 flats, it is almost as quiet as stock.

Keep us posted!

The chart on the S&S site:
http://www.sscycle.com/tech-info/pus...ustment-guide/

It shows that your setup should be 24 flats (0.1248"), and mine, 18 flats (0.1242"). You say yours sounds good, I'm going to start with that, then go from there. Will be doing this today, so should be able to test ride, and report back before too long. Thanks for your input!

Adjusted the rods to 18 flats (0.124"), buttoned everything up, took about a ten mile ride. All's holding up so far!
