Mounted up. Thoughts? After four or five different bracket designs, I think I finally actually like this one. The others I was just "meh" about.

The bracket? Yeah, I think a black of some type would be my first choice.

It looks really nice, very clean. Is it sturdy as is?

Also, the Carlinis look awesome!

Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to run it as is (painted). It's stronger than I expected and I didn't even bolt down the third (bottom/hidden) bracket. With .050 stainless it would be damn near bomb proof.

So far I'm diggin' the bars. Was originally going to have the powder coated but once I.started getting parts on it the chome started looking better and better. I'm not going to make a decision until I get the front end hung on the frame. I'm still a little concerned about the grips or controls hitting the tank, but we'll see. The CAD model says it should clear but some of my model geometry is pretty rough.

Nicely done, sir!

+1 on F86's comment - maybe a heavier gauge on the material, but the 'curve' compliments the mirror brackets. Cool.

It must be awesome to have access/knowledge to lay this stuff out with a CAD tool first... I'm sure it saves quite a bit of trial and error. It's been awhile since I've really fabricated much from scratch (other than really little bits here and there), but it usually entails lots of cut up pizza boxes bolted to various parts of the bike, then trimmed on the bike, then traced onto metal... If I waste more pizza boxes than metal, I feel pretty good about it...

Yes, it really does help, both with material savings and design choices. I still use a fair amount of poster board, tho. My tank mods are going to be done with poster board templates.

That was kinda the idea. I'm trying to keep things curvy without going Full Arlen Ness.

If you order enough pizza, you won't have to buy any poster board!
