CGGorman's 99 Wide Glide build thread
Lots of great builds have come out of HDF. Several were direct inspiration to me. They convinced me a Dyna could, in fact, be stripped down into a cool bar hopper or bobber.
Cleaned and polished the trees, neck, and lowers.
Final install of the front wheel.
Still need to touch up some paint chips on the RH lower and finish off the brakes before I can check off the front end.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Got'er all drilled and hammered in the easy out.
Wouldn't budge.
Applied heat slowly until the powder coat started to blister. Tried again. No joy.
Applied more heat and tried more torque. Went until the easy out felt like it was springing and gave up.
Drilled out the majority and then broke out the die grinder. Tried to stay out of the threads, but didn't do real good.
Chased the remainder and blew it out. Tested a bolt and it wobbled a bit. Would probably have been OK, but not taking any chances.
Spent an hour running to town and looking for 3/8-16 Heli-coil. Got that installed, so she's good to go.
Still need to polish the PC before I put on the new foot controls.
Spent the rest of the afternoon polishing hardware, then final install of the headlight, handle bars, and freshly painted brake line tee.
