Picked up a 2011 front end. Dual disk with Wide Glide trees. Here's hoping I can make it work on a 99 frame. A bit overpriced, I think, but I wanted a bit more rake anyway (was gonna do rake bearing cups) and this fit the bill, so...yeah...
I need to fogure out the brakes now. Can somebody give me the skinny on which calipers interchange with the late model Dyna fork lowers? (Maybe I should start a new thread?)
Looking for a hub, too. I'll lace up my own custom wheel. I'm going wide. At least 150. Need to get further along before I commit.
Also need hand controls, rear brake lever, handlebars, grips, headlight, hydro clutch conversion, new leather for the seat, new pipes, new air cleaner assembly, new rear shocks, and assorted hardware.
Planning some fuel tank mods to support a Motoscope Mini...that's near the bottom of the list tho. I can ride the bike without that.

i have a crap load of spacers to donate to the cause
the difference between 07 and 08' & up dyna is the rotor itselft (from 11.5" to 11.8") when they went to 49mm fork. All 08 & up Dyna or Softail calipers will fit
Cool. I see tons of cheap touring bike take offs on eBay but not so much Dyna. That's OK. I'll just keep watching. I'm in no great hurry...still can't use my left arm.
Thanks for the spacer offer. I'm months away from knowing what I'll need in that respect.

Glad to see you're back in the grind. This may become my favorite thread. I'll look through my small pile of parts for donations but I doubt I have anything you want or need.
Not sure I'd go that far. I still have trouble just buttoning my pants and still have to replace my left shoulder over Christmas, but I'm trying to spend some insurance money anyway! Some of it already went toward medical bills so I'll have to dip into my income tax refund to make up the difference.
Harley-Davidson XR1200 (Nissin) calipers are a fit with 11.8 inch rotors, some shimming or trimming depending on which 49mm legs you have (with Fat Bob legs in mid glide trees its trimming).
Interesting. I'm not sure I like the technical look of those calipers for this project, tho. I'm trying to keep it pretty clean and classic without sacrificing too much performance/function.
